Local Marine Advisory Committees

The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority is advised on Marine Park management issues at a local level by voluntary community-based committees called Local Marine Advisory Committees.

Reef health updates

As Australia’s lead management agency for the Reef, we monitor Reef conditions very closely throughout the year. From May to November each year, we issue regular Reef health reports.

Tourism Reef Advisory Committee

The Tourism Reef Advisory Committee provides advice to the Marine Park Authority Board through the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority on the management of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
